I made this dress from a Burdastyle pattern that was provided as part of a Craftsy.com online course taught by Gretchen Hirsch called Sew Retro.
I learnt so much making this dress. I have never been taught how to do things properly and feel I will really benefit from the techniques I have learnt.
The dress is a cotton print with a muslin underlining to the bodice. The lining of the bodice has spiral steel boning and the cups are lightly padded to give them shape and structure.
I cannot recommend this course enough, I never knew how to pin out and mark a pattern properly before and now I am so much quicker. The hand finishing also gives a lovely finish. I will definitely be making another dress, perhaps with a full skirt.
