The bottom band was actually a mistake. The dress was originally supposed to be all purple but I cut the bottom band wrong and didn’t have enough fabric to make another so I used this other fabric and I actually like it SO much better.

I was just scrolling through old comments and realized I did not reply to you, sorry. To answer your question: I did not use a pattern but I did look at a shirt I have that is similar to the way this fits around the neck and all.
