This jacket was self drafted and pieced together with as many big pieces of this heather gray sweatshirt fleece that I had leftover from old projects. The jacket was really a test in “making it work” as I changed many design elements based on the amount of fabric I had available (like making the extra long cuffs with buttons).
The jacket even has little pockets in the front which were way too confusing to sew but I’m glad I did because they make the jacket more functional.
I was originally inspired by a friend’s sweatshirt fleece blazer but in the end mine looked completely different. I like that it’s comfy and I didn’t have to do much fitting because it is a knit but it still looks nice enough to be considered a blazer.
I wrote more about it on my blog

Buttoned sleeves on a fleece jacket: what a greta idea! Makes a difference in an ordinary piece.

The challenge that you set yourself to make this jacket is wonderful. I really like what you have achieved. Well done.
