Description

My first quilt for my first baby.
Looks rather mature but I just don’t like those childish baby quilts in pink or blue. I don’t want to infect my baby with this esthetic.
The design is based on Christa’s quilt Sea of Squares. Her blog and sewalongs are a great source for all first time quilters. I liked the design’s geometric simplicity and clean yet traditional look.
It took me 3 evenings to complete this quilt. The size is approximately 1 by 1 meter.

Material Notes

Quilting cotton, cotton batting, backed with Berta Ruta from Ikea

That is a lovely quilt, I adore the colour! I am making my first quilt at the moment and am starting to realize how difficult it is to get the squares lined up, which you make look easy.

Thank you. The colors on the photos look rather grey in fact it’s really green.
Lining up the pieces is not easy. Believe me! The secret is to cut precisely, press all the seams and divide the quilt in small blocks.
