I made this skirt with the left over drill from my Pumice Peter Pan Trench. I altered the pattern a little by omitting the pockets and gathers, moving the zipper to the side, and narrowing the waistband. I really like how it turned out and am happy with the fit! Believe it or not I can sit in it and when I get up there are no wrinkles!!!
This piece is super high waisted, with a slight back slit. I think the mock pockets give it a slight Mod, geometric look. And the color is turning out to be very versatile.
There are so few photos of this piece because my camera dropped and was fatally injured during the “shoot” :( I am going to wait until my return to the states to get her fixed so in the meantime my projects are piling up without documentation.
70cm of cotton poly drill

Stunning, great idea taking out the buttons & gathers, gives it much slimmer silhouette, love the colour too!

lovely Gina Sophia who knew this skirt could look this elegantly classic. …my you are a prolific seamstress I wonder how many hours a day you sew ? Mind you I’d sew lots too if I produced garments as lovely as you do.

:) lately I feel I sew far too many hours a day to be proud of, but my days have been longer without school and work!
And the more I sew the faster I get!!

Beautiful! I never realized what a fabulous neutral grey can be!
ps: Sorry to hear about your camera… I also had/have a Canon (Power Shot) and it got dropped and the lens wouldn’t go back in… I took it in and they told me it would cost $300 to fix – but a new one would cost $170… Hopefully it won’t be too much to fix yours (I hate just buying new things and throwing old stuff away… grrrr)

Thankfully, I knew this camera would be through a lot this year so luckily I got the full warranty so I won’t have to pay… its just waiting to get it repaired that pains me.
