My Project Challenge was to re-purpose leftover remnants and scraps from two projects to “practice” making a Chanel style Jacket.
The Jacket Pattern is Vogue 7975.
My focus was on learning to fit my rounded upper back and improving my pressing techniques working with Cashmere.
Leftover Cashmere from my Galenga Jacket and leftover Velveteen from my Midnight Magic Contest entry, where I was selected as the People’s Choice Finalist.
The Skirt Embroidery is the Dainty Damask from Embroidery Library, with over 300,000 embroidery stitches in 26 motifs.
The box pleated band on the skirt was a result of forgetting to include the hem… Let your mistakes inspire your Creativity!
The collar is detachable and created from a UFO, that just didn’t work as planned. The chenille and metallic yarns fringed beautifully.
The trim is vintage and the chenille and metallic fringe was hand-made and applied by hand.

I cannot believe this is made out of remnants! This outfit looks so properly finished and well made. I also like the box pleats on the skirt hem!
