i finally bought a nice camera (it’s business!!) but couldn’t bear to buy a regular old case. i think they are ugly. and made in china. and ugly.
so i made one.
i put down a layer of quilting stabilizer, then a million pieces of jean scraps (left over from my upcycled denim obi belts) then a layer of wool from an ugly old sweater, then a bunch of softer scraps from my ruffle shirts and turtle dresses, then another piece of stabilizer.
and pinned all that together.
and then gave it some stitches, in grids.
then pulled off the stabilizer.
then gave it LOTS MORE stitches. (thank you for being a tank, my beloved industrial juki.)
then i built a scupture with the resulting fabric around my fabric, giving more stitches to hold the shape, and then making war to get those stupid snaps in.
and wah-la! the most awesome camera case you’ve ever seen.
scraps, sweat, tears, love

Agreed. Really cool and a great way to use up some scraps.
