I love going to the Renaissance Festival in costume. This year my friends and I went on Barbarian Invasion Weekend.
The first picture is the completed costume.
The second picture is how it looked before I added the breastplate and studding.
I used a faux suede fabric treated to look like leather for the costume. It was a great fabric to work with! For the boot covers I used vinyl.
The breastplate was made out of EZ-Form which is kind of like Plaster of Paris adhered to cloth that you cut into strips. You dip the strips into warm water and you’re able to form a mold. It dries in completely in 12 to 24 hours.
