I didn’t wear uniform as a schoolgirl, and now I compensate for that as a grownup :). I used the same pattern as for the Yellow plaid skirt – BWOF 1/1998, #103, and trimmed it with fringe. The front and back yoke parts are cut on bias.

Pretty school uniform skirt! I just bought some 60’s Burda a few days ago. Should have them in the mail in a few days and I just can’t wait!

Thanks Anajan. I’m expecting all of 1978 in the mail. I’ve never seen vintage Burdas before so I’m really excited about this. I’m hoping 1978 was a good year!

peaudane: Oh, it has side seams. But, the pattern is really simple, so matching plaids isn’t complicated. Hm… my Burda collection is really huge. My father used to buy Burda to my mother, even though she didn’t sew :). So, the oldest issue was from 1978 (and I was born in 1979). When I started sewing (1994), I had enough journals to start with. Silly me, I threw away around 70-80 old issues from ‘80ies and ’70ies few years ago :(. My own collection starts from 1998, but I don’t have every issue. I have the entire 2006, 2007 and 2008 (January – October) collections. The total collection counts around 70 issues (it includes few issues of Italian La Mia Boutique, one Marfy, several Spanish Patrones, and few issues of Modelina)

I love Your skirt! Does it have no side seams? That would be smart as you wouldn’t have to match the plaid! How far back does your collection of BWOF go? Do you have any favorite years?

Let me tell you- you didn’t miss anything! It’s not like you get to pick what style of plaid you get to wear or how you get to wear it- haha :) This skirt though is very nice- I like it! And even after 9 years in a uniform I would wear this :) great work!
