Description

This is a cote I made a few years back when I was a fashion design student for my tailoring class. the self drafted pattern is made of a cream silk dupioni I had in my stash and to add weight to the silk I flat line the jacket with a coordinating cotton. I finished all the seams with a flat felled finish so you can’t tell the jacket inside and outside were constructed as one unit. Because I secretly dislike making machine worked buttonholes and bound buttonholes were out of the project guidelines I made loops for button securing. I added an inverted pleat detail to the sleeves for a little more excitement and I finished the raw edges of the facings, hem and sleeve seams with a Hong Kong finish.
