I called this dress Scarlet O’Hara not because of style (what is obvious I think), but because I made it out of curtain. If you don’t know what I mean, you should read “Gone with the wind” :)
I used 113 pattern from 8/2009 Burda Magazine with some (unexpected in the beginning) alternations. I didn’t add a zipper (in fact I added it and removed it later), made both parts shorter and changed sleeves shape a little bit.
And after something about 4 months is ready!

This dress is just gorgeous! I love the print… & it looks so comfortable. I also love the combination of the dress & the jacket in the third photo. Such style!

I have this pattern too and I was thinking to use it, it seem not too difficult. It’s a good idea to use cotton for it instead of velvet! I like your dress!!!

Yep – I’m a HUGE sucker for Scarlet and for her lovely green curtain dress (and the feather tail she plucked from the rooster to adorn her hat!) and your dress is lovely too! Now I want to go out and buy a curtain to make into a dress!!! Fab job!!

Isn’t that a great issue of Burda? I love that dress and it’s great to see it in other fabrics. Very nice!

Thanks for all your sweet and supportive comments! Making this dress was quite difficult and irritating for me so it’s nice to read that you like it

So cute! Very Pixie-ish! I love your design with the fabric you chose. The photo’s really set the tone, some young fashionista from the past repositioned for today! Beautiful job.

Super! Zdjęcie no. 1 the best.
