This is my scarf contest entry. As soon as I read about the contest I knew I wanted to enter. I hate the cold weather, but living in NYC where I seem to be always in and out of the cold during the winter months, I have to get inventive with my cold-weather gear. I mean nobody wants to wear a million layers and accessories everyday.
So I made a multifunctional piece. I knew I wanted sweatshirt fleece because it is so comfy and warm. I also knew I wanted versatility so I made this reversible! I added in seam pockets and drafter my own hood pattern. I am very excited about this and working on posting my pattern here.
This can be worn as navy or a light heather grey, with the hood up or down, or as a shawl or scarf! I love it!!
(please excuse the hair, this is my shut in look!)
sweatshirt fleece!

This is probably the cutest scarf-hood I have ever seen. You would actually look like you have a hoodie layered under your coat! I love it.

Wonderful! How did you come to create this pattern? Could you give me any suggestion? I’d really love to do this, since winter is coming here too, in south Italy :)

I was just thinking about the scarf contest parameters… make a scarf that exemplifies you. And although this doesn’t represent me in an artistic way, if definitely covers me with the design.. my ideal, functional outerwear piece. Then I sketched! I am working on posting the pattern and suggested modifications (probably will be up by next weekend!)

TNKS!!! I’d love to sew one too :) It looks warm, confortable and, above all, so creative!!! I tried to rate it with the highest value, but I’m not sure I did it right :) Anyway, at the moment you know for sure we are all appreciating your creativity :)

This is great – well done! I saw someone wearing a knitted version last winter.

This is SOO adorable! Seriously, I want one so bad! I just signed up here and attempted to rate your scarf with the highest rating but I messed up and gave you a 1! Now I don’t know how to fix it! So sorry about that, because I LOVE what you’ve got here. :) If anyone knows how I can correct this error please let me know, thanks!

I would seriously work on getting this patented. This is so original, handy, sexy, and marketable! I want 10 of them in 20 different colors!! I work at ups in the hub where its freezing in the winter and breezy right now, I want a brown one with a ups logo on it and be able to flip it around to feminine pink when I go pick up my son from nursery school! great job!
