This is an 11 inch tall (excluding hat) puppet for a short stop-motion animated film by Matthew Chappell based on L. Frank Baum’s “The Scarecrow of OZ.” His body and face are completely poseable. I built-up the body around a ball and socket armature made by Juergen of StopMoTech and designed the skull and facial mechanisms myself out of polymer clay and wire covered with a layer of nylon and fabric. His hat attaches with hidden magnets so that it can be removed easily yet stay on his head while animating. I am not going to be doing the animating myself so will have to wait to see how it turns out just like everyone else. I’m not sure when the film will be finished but I’ll try to post video clips of it on my page at www.stopmotionmagic.com/jillpenney when/if I get them. This puppet took me about 2 months to make and I don’t even know how many hours.
ball and socket armature, quilting batting, nylon, various types of fabrics hand dyed/painted/distressed, raffia, strawa, paint, wire, polymer clay....

Seriously, he is amazing. I’ll never watch an animated film the same again, knowing how much effort goes into each individual character. I’m in awe of your talent.
