I made this dress for my friend’s sweet sixteen using the same pattern as my “japanese pattern tunic”, only lengthening it a bit and shortening the sleeves. I went fabric-hunting at mood- that was an experience in itself! wow so much to choose from! but i fell in love with a sheer grey cotton print with large yellow and greenish flowers.. while i was there i also saw kenley collins from project runway and her parents, but i was too timid to say anything to her.. plus i didn’t want to bother her :] anyway, since the fabric was pretty thin i backed it with white cotton muslin which turned out pretty okay i guess. this was my first time making a garment for someone else.. i know it’s not perfect but i enjoyed making it!
printed cotton, muslin, zipper, hook & eye, bias tape
happy 16th cat!

Oh my gosh! What’s not perfect? This looks great! Woohoo! on getting to see Kenley Collins from Project Runway! I probably would have reacted the same way! Anyway, great job on the dress, it’s perfect!
