I fell in love with the fabric and bought it 2 years ago from Britex. I spent over a year finding all the pieces I needed for this blazer. Mostly that has been solutions to the problems inherent in what I wanted to do with the fabric. I have learned to underline, bind seams, sew leather all for this one jacket!
It isn’t done, I was hopeful but other projects got in the way, I still need to line it and sleeves will be nice but I have the collar nearly finished so I am posting! More to come…
The fabric is woven from twisted strips of cotton and silk saris both warp and weft. It is incredibly unstable and while it doesn’t drape it does sag.
