Burda Style For people who sew
Description
My “Sarajevo meets Honolulu Dress”… ;-) I found this fabulous printed silk in a little store in downtown Sarajevo in April for a fifth of the price it would have cost here in Austria, and knew I wanted something fluttery and summery made out of it. So this was the result, and I finished it just in time for a dear friend’s wedding. 100 % silk, a heck of a lot of handsewing and a few cursewords went into the production, but it was definitely worth it!
Hm, I can’t figure out how to add this, but the pattern is from BurdaStyle magazine 06/2010, dress pattern no. 12. On this site it is called 6/2010 Drap Dress #126.

This really is very pretty! I think the more cursewords used in production, the better the dress turns out, and this seems to prove it! :)

Ha! I’d agree most of the time… but sometimes the cursing appears for a reason – that being, this pattern will not work for me. But in the above case you are right. :-)

Great! Exactly in Sarajevo? I’m happy about that. I live in Croatia and I like when someone mentions a city from the former Yugoslavia. Especially when it comes to fabrics. Your dress is really amazing and suits you beatiful!

Yes, by the old town market in Sarajevo. :-) I loved it there, I have friends who live there and we were visiting them at the time. I blew my whole amount of play money in that fabric store… ;-)
