The inspiration came from watching Grease recently, haven’t watched since I was a kid but still think I could recite the whole script backwards! I created the pattern using Wenlans skirt yoke pieces and the Burdastyle Linda pattern. I needed to adjust the Linda pattern by shortening the length and altering the skirt top to fit the Wenlan yoke pieces. The lining has interfacing to give the skirt real fullness. I wasn’t sure whether to enter this competition, purely because of time, but in the end I thoroughly enjoyed making something more glamourous than my usual casual wear. Thanks to my beautiful 13 year old daughter Ruby who did a great job taking the pics.
There are 3 layers in total, top is chiffon, middle is satin and base is the lining with interfacing.

gorgeous skirt, and I know where your daughter’s creative capability comes from. tell her she took some excellent pictures. Where is this, by the way?
Looks like it was alot of work, but definitely came out very nicely!

ahh, thank you! This pebbly beach is only 5min walk from our house, we live in Hobart TASMANIA, the most southern part of the world, beautiful place to reside.

I like it a lot, it’s one of the very nicest Twinkle-A-lines I think (can’t decide which one I like the most, they’re so different!). I also really, really like the setting and the pictures…

Very nice. Looks like a skirt for a modern ballet to me – and the tights, shoes and blouse matches perfect. Photos are also great!

Gorgeous. The only problem with skirts like this is I feel the need to twirl round all the time which makes me quite dizzy!
