I am a fan of Sewaholic Patterns, so I had to immediately buy the Saltspring dress. Even though I don’t usually wear bloused dresses. I didn’t think they would look good on me, as I thought they would obliterate my waist (I’m proud of it, what can I say. Even though it’s just the way I’m built, not down to anything I do).
But the design looks so effortless, and I don’t have nearly enough maxi dresses.
This is obviously not a maxi dress, but I wanted to test the fit first (as I said I didn’t choose the right sizes before). Also, the fabric was too narrow to make it one.
Anyway, the dress is very easy to put together, here are my Pattern Review notes
I like how it turned out, but next time I will add about 2cm to the bodice lining to account for my long torso and slightly reduce the blousing.
