I used the waistband from Simplicity 2698, which I have used before, and drafted a half-circle maxi skirt to match. The waistband has had a bit taken off the front as I made it a bit too wide last time.
The skirt was drafted using the seam line of the biggest waistband piece x 4 as the circumference (including the 1.5cm seam allowance) with the equation r = 2c/2. This allowed me to cut a front and back piece – one seam for a pocket and one for a zip! FYI I used the Peony pocket piece and it is drafted for pixies – us man-handed folk should steer clear because I can hardly fit my hand in.
