Two StyleArc projects, the Simply Sally wrap top mentioned in a previous post, matched with the Wendy trousers. These are the first trousers I have made off a pattern and they are great! Didn’t have quite enough fabric, so the legs are a little slimmer than I normally wear, but the pattern was so well-drawn and the style so easy, these will become a wardrobe staple methinks :)
Top- Superfine Japanese cotton jersey
Trousers- Cotton, nylon, elastane mix (1.6m remnant from Potters in West Leederville in Western Australia) a bargain at $10!

This whole outfit looks so great and also so comfortable. I too like these patterns and have found them to be easy to follow and to sew plus the fit is good. And when they are to become a staple in your sewing ventures, they are really good value. The paper that the pattern is drawn on is such good quality that I have saved the scraps for Burda patterns, especially patterns that I know I will use again. You look great by the way!!!

Thanks Marjorie, I’ve saved the paper too, the pieces are so generous :) I’m thinking of doing the Wendy pants in something brighter for summer at work, I can refine some of the issues that have made these grey ones certainly what I would class only as a wearable toile!

They look very wearable to me and I think the width of the trouser leg suits you. Makes you look taller. Aren’t Dutch girls meant to be tall? But it is still worth making them exactly as the pattern says and once sewn up, you may well like a narrower leg. But all the same, these are great trousers for $10 and I bet you live in them.

Thanks Anne, I went to work in this outfit and was comfortable all day. I did stabilise the front of the top with a silver brooch as there is a fair bit of movement because I made it in a knit instead of a woven fabric.

Ooo, I like that top! Very interesting drape details, and it goes well with the plain trousers. Fab job.
