I have wanted to make the sailor pants since last year…Do you like this sort
of pants? Do you think you could sew this
without sewing instruction?(I don’t have one but it quite similar to new Kasia skirt) I uploaded the pattern. With these pattern pieces, you can converse any shorts/pants that has no pleat in the front into sailor pants. I tried
the Nichola, and it went great!
very stretchy cotton mix lycra, perhaps the worst choice of all.
Pattern book that burdastyle sent me (
I will get the name later.

My husbands a sailor and though he hates his dress blues (there are quite a lot of buttons to undo to go to the bathroom) they sure do make his butt look so cute! also the number of buttons is actually significant (13 I think) but he mentioned it to me when I asked why so many buttons. I so don’t remember what he said.

These are adorable and you did a really great job. I’ve been looking for a good quasi authentic sailor pants pattern for a while because I’ve lacked the gumption to do one myself and I couldn’t quite wrap my head around the whole button front idea. So thanks so much. Love the lace up back too. You got skills girl !!!

You are so very clever. I love the details – the top stitching, the leather lacing, the contrasting trim.

I’m not 100% sure I would like this sailor closure for myself, but I find myself once again in awe of your skills. It looks just perfect and I love the contrast trim on the inside.

Very cute. Another amazing creation, JJ. I love the leather lacing in the back. I’d love a pattern or how-to for this.
