I love the old sailor dresses from the 1950s. When I finished sewing it I showed it to my mom and she was like, “I used to wear one of those when I was a kid.” So that was kind of funny. After lots of bribing, I finally got my little brother to help me with the photo shoot and I am now 2 candy bars short because of it. He’s wearing the pea coat that I made. I hope you like it. :)
I started my own blog. Here it is if you would like to see it. :) http://www.esther-fromthesticks.blogspot.com/
I take all my own photos with a tripod and self timer.

How creative! The photos tell a story and an awesome one at that! It makes me feel like I’m in a movie! Your brother must be very cool to do the shoot with you – my little bro used to beg me to let him wear my Rainbow Brite swimsuit when he was 3… lol Ya gotta love little boys who love their sisters ;o)

Yes, this is good. This is all so very good! I, too, lived in IN for 2 years & never met a seamstress…so you are doing your state proud. These garmets, the photos-I love them!

I’m not saying anything new here, but this photo and those outfits are positively darling. And even coming from a pessimist like myself, you are one very talented young lady!

Looking at ypur pictures is a great pleasure for the eyes. It is playful and I can feel the creative energy in your creations. It’s fun but perfectionism. Very well.

I love browsing through your projects just to check out the photography. The first few images remind me very much of the Baudelaire orphans from A Series of Unfortunate Events. Well done on the sailor dress. So classy!

Great dress and love your photos! I just have one remark: with your next creations, maybe you could take some close-ups, so we can see the details on your creations a bit better! But I am also very impressed about your talent. I wish I would have started sewing when I was your age!

Fantastic! I have photo’s of my mother in sailor outfits (She is northern Italian) back in the late 30’s and early 40’s in Italy….. I think that the sailor dress is/was a universal icon. I love your dress and your photo’s are beautiful!
