my “sailing” dress is based on this dress: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=339575.0
i just made it longer and used 2 different fabrics. the top was made with a really nice white vintage fabric that’s sort of sheer and pleated. so it’s backed with the same silver cotton broadcloth that was used for the bottom of the dress. the straps are made of the same broadcloth that’s been braided. i also put in a zipper to make it easier to put on.
made with approximately 1.25 yards total of the white vintage textured stripe (cotton/poly) fabric and silver/light gray cotton broadcloth. braided broadcloth straps, 11" vintage white metal zipper, 2 hook and eyes, elastic waistband.

I love this, the colors are beautiful, although I think this type of dress works only with small busts since you can´t wear bra with this :).

Very nice adaptation of the other dress. I personally prefer it your way- longer. Beautiful fabric choices.

Soooooooooo very pretty! LOVE IT! I would love to make this but my girls are a 36D and would not hold up in this dress w/o a bra. LOL
