i had been sketching away in my book at 3 in the morning when i came up with this little idea. it may sound strange that i was up at that time, but thats actually when my best ideas come to me. i guess its because im a little overtired and my imagination is on overdrive… only after i had bought my fabric did i realize that the sadie pattern was for a stretchy material, so i had to make some major alterations, like darts in the bust, and an overlap for buttons all the way down the back and into the skirt. actually at one point it was so close to being finished but i had a trip coming up so i was gone for ten days, leaving my poor sadie behind. i was home for a week after that, but i was just too tired. THEN i had another trip! to New York to be with my amazing aunt Jenny for 8 days. i just got home recently and i spent an entire day finishing the dress.
linen, cotton, and a cotton silk blend, 7 pearly buttons, and 7 snaps
burdastyle for the pattern!
thankyou!
