I’ve been wanting to make a fun dress, and thought the Sabrina would fit the bill. Not so happy with the results, though- should have extended the bodice, and lengthened the hem.
Worst fabric choice ever- blue cotton flannel. I wanted a light cotton summer dress, but the fabric store I went to was very limited and I was too impatient to get started. I would not recommend this fabric, too heavy for a summer dress and drapes strangely.

Thanks for all the kind words! I’m shipping it off to my sister this weekend, I think she’ll get more use out of it than I will, and Seattle stays cooler for longer than Philly, so she’ll have more season to wear it in. I love the idea of saving it for fall, and pairing with tights and tall boots. I’ll pass the ideas on to her.

I love that you wrote “in terrible blue flannel.” It made me laugh. Despite the fabric, I think it’s pretty dang cute. I tend to use the wrong fabric for everything I make. Makes things interesting!

I would definitely save it for fall and wintertime! I can see it with tights ands boots…and of course a shirt underneath, or a cardigan for warmth. It’s actually very cute :)

Still looks pretty cute in the pics though, even if flannel fabric drapes funny.
Maybe you could pair it with a light, long sleeved top in the winter…toss in some tall boots and I think you’ve still got a winner even if it’s not so great for summer wear.
