To celebrate my boyfriend turning 30 I made him a cowboy shirt from a vintage pattern I found on etsy. He picked the fabric, which I was a little unsure of at first, but the combination has grown on me.
That darned collar took me about 4 goes to get right, after being redrafted down from super-sized 70’s disco wings. The whole project took many sweaty hours in the middle of a Perth Summer heatwave and I cried while trying to neatly hem the curved bottom edge, I put a hole in it but my mum saved me (thanks Mum!) which resulted in it being a teenier bit shorter than I hoped.
But after all that, it fits great, he totally loves it and wears it everywhere. It makes me really, really happy seeing him in it!
Contrasting quilting weight cotton, red buttons. Sweat and tears.

Oh, this is awesome! I made a shirt for my boyfriend that is pretty similar. I was really scared of it at first but I had a blast making it. I love the color combo he chose! Wonderful job!

Love it! I’m so afraid of menswear! Was it harder than making a womens blouse? You did a great job of it though!
