Burda 105 10/2007.
My goal was to use an original burda pattern to give it an russian folklore flaviour. It is completely based on my own idea. I used golden borders on the red woolknit. It completely underlined including the sleeves. The blouse has been bought extra for this dress. During daylight the borders aren’t that shiny, but artifical light let’s them shine. partially passament are sewed manually
mainly woolknit, lining is nevaviscon (antistatic), goldborders are brokat, passament with golden thread as well

Very pretty! Really well done! These golden borders together with the red woolknit gives a touch of royal. Es sieht alles aus, wie gemalt… ein wunderschönes Foto!

Oh, my! I had an idea of making a dress based on Russian “sarafan” (or rather making a sarafan, not a dress ;-)), but I wasn’t sure how it would look, being… khm… “slightly” old-fashioned and I didn’t know how people would look at it… ;-) Your idea of making it short and adding sleeves (thus making it look more like a proper dress) is very interesting and the borders you chose are truly magnificent! I might still give my original idea a try, I guess! ;-)
