This skirt was inspired by the designs of Ulyana Sergeenko ( http://thehomeblues.blogspot.co.il/2012/07/my-russian-blues.html & http://pinterest.com/Milenushka/my-russian-blues/). I wanted to make something with a Russian flair but a bit more flattering to my figure than the full skirts Ulyana wears . This is my pattern, based on a self drafted block, the skirt ends about 3 inches above the natural waist line and the seam lines are eliminated to reduce bulk. It has an underlined facing for the waist and is fully lined. More pictures and details in my blog – http://thehomeblues.blogspot.co.il/2012/09/the-russian-couture-inspired-skirt.html
p.s the blouse is vintage (Mom’s closet:)) and the shoes are by my friend, the talented Svetlana Kletina. (http://www.sk-shoes.com/)

Beautiful fabric, beauiful skirt. I just found an old dress of mine with a similar fabric, mh… maybe I know now how to reinvent it.

Thank you Claudinka! I love it too, it reminds me of those big Russian – Gypsy challs. I can wear it with red shoes, or a pink bag, and it looks a bit different each time.
Good luck and post a link if you make something:)
