I have been a student at the Pacific Design Academy for the last year and as part of the program will be having my first runway show on June 22nd! My collection is inspired by 1940s British wartime values of “make do and mend” as well as the B.C. west coast. Here is one of my outfits which I’ve called the Bolton Shirt and Manchester Pants after the area of England that my family is from.
I’ve written and posted photos about a few of the other outfits in my collection on my blog. I am toying with the idea of having these made into sewing patterns to put up on Thread Theory Designs Inc., my menswear sewing pattern website. What do you think? Should I branch into a line of women’s patterns?
Shirt: Hemp knit, Nettle and Bamboo shoulder and back details, brass buttons. Pants: Tencel, leather for buckles.
Try out menswear inspired wardrobe staples, like unconventional jackets and high waisted pants.
Find full size patterns for these, and other gorgeous styles in the spring issue!
