Description

I’ve been making some running clothes. I used Jalie patterns and altered them a little to make exactly what I wanted. I made the zebra print top with a compression bra… the same for the red and pink top. The running skirt has awesome deep side pockets. More on my blog

Love Jalie patterns. You did a great job. I am in the process of finishing a compression bra as well. I lined the whole thing using the same fabric as I used for the outside, but now I don’t know how to finish the elastic band properly (still thinking about a solution). Next time I may use your idea to extend the bra into a top, although I think I will add the elastic to the lining so it will not show on the outside. Did you also add elastic to the ‘racer-part’ of the bra, or only the lower band?

Thanks! And YES make sure to use elastic on all the edges, this provides the support for the bra (yes, I used elastic all around.) I lined it with the supplex because the outer fabric was a little more sheer then I wanted, plus the suppelx is so nice against the skin.

Kathhhhhy, thanks for your reply. Now I am really curious about how my bra will fit, as I did not use elastic for the upper part of the bra. Hopefully I will be able to finish the top soon, so I can post pictures and my experiences as well.

Thanks! I want to see more activewear sewing… there isn’t that much in the sewing blogosphere or on sites like this. I studied only a small handful of reviews before making these.
