My grandma saw a ruffle skirt in a store for around $150, loved it and sketched a picture as soon as she got home. Then we drafted a pattern and made the skirt! It’s great – although it made of quite a delicate black silk from my local fabric shop. I’m afraid of wearing it out in case I destroy the fabric by sitting on something rough!
The skirt is somewhere between a-line and pencil – I might upload the pattern if I can figure out how!
100% silk, black zipper. Because the material was so delicate, it was almost impossible to do a truly invisible hem, but I did my best :)

This is definitely one of the cutest projects I’ve seen. I think I’ll follow your lead and try to make one that is more casual. You have great taste! Good job!
