This black and white ruffle front lined dress have side seams, three ruffles at front and exposed metal zipper
The inspiration is from McCall 6518 and I modified it a bit. Instead of a straight skirt I turn it into a full skirt and use gathers at the waist. I did not use any ribbon because I could not get any Petersham ribbon, instead I was getting one that frays easily. I used a yellow zipper to give it a little pop at the back. I also change the ruffles from single layer ruffles that would show on the wrong side and completely lined it. So happy I did that because the material was rather thin. I added a little cap sleeve because I was wearing it to church. Really wanted to look modest.
I love the style and I am planning to make it again just like the original. I love my version too…it looks quite lovely. :-)
