I fell in love as soon as I saw this new pattern (Pencil Skirt (Plus Size) 03/2013 #145) and couldn’t wait to make it, I did and I love it! However I don’t wear short or tucked in tops, only longer tops when I’m over weight as I am now that I just gave birth to twins so the back zipper embellishment would be lost on me…therefore I decided to add a 3-tier ruffle on the back bottom since these ruffles are my new favorite accent nowadays. Was a really quick sew and I know I will be making it again and again. I also plan on making a dress version in a rose colored jersey knit since the front cross over panel is so sexy. I also added my own waistband since I have a quick and easy band style that I really like on knit skirts.
