After not sewing a single thing for over 8 months this was what I finished over the Christmas holidays using my new adjustable dress form in about 2 days. Nice fitting shirt could be worn to work with a nice cardigan on top, with a nice pencil skirt or casually with jeans and heels.
I made some adjustments to the pattern
1. 1 inch added on the front center piece to accommodate my bust better
2. 1 Inch on the collar due to the adjustment at the front/ varied to stand collar recommended on pattern.
3. Ruffle /gather sleeves rather than those suggested in the pattern
4. I only made 2 rows of ruffles rather than the 3 suggested in the pattern as with the gather sleeves I thought that would be too much ruffles for me.
About 2 meters of purple check cotton/shirting material bought from a stall on my high st from £4.00 ! Bargain. and 5 buttons from the pound store :)
I would recommend that this shirt could also be made with a more floating ( but not stretchy) cotton material with some body.

That looks pretty! I downloaded the JJ myself once I think, but I then got some vintage patterns and never got round to it…
