Sigh. Please ignore the kitty fur on my shorts. They make a very soft pillow for sleeping on, it seems. I made these to test out the Ruby pattern that I’d cut out months ago, outta some fabrics from my stash. I’d been hanging on to that brown velvet for years and somehow there was just the right yardage left that I’d need for shorts! The buttons, my favorite part, are from my Grandma, who always cut them off her old and worn-out sweaters to save for another use. Thanks, Grandma!
No big alterations to the pattern, just welt pockets on both sides of the front and two pockets on the back. I like having lotsa pockets. I also left off the belt with the idea that I’d put belt loops on instead, although now I want to wear them with some suspenders!
Cotton velveteen, a fat quarter of some awesome Japanese cotton for the facings, and my Grandma’s buttons.
