I made this dress using Vogue #V1108 with the purpose of wearing it to my friends wedding on the weekend. This dress pattern was an exciting challenge which was jam packed with couture techniques: foundation, boning, two types of interfacing, lining and a healthy dose of hand-stitching. I reduced the back by a massive amount as the sizing was weirdly huge at the back.
I made the dress in a silk dupion which is a pleasure to sew with, and really enjoyed the pleat details and the bow. I love the feminine shape of this dress.
I finished the dress in time for the wedding yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed feeling a bit fancy in my new blue frock.
