These are the Ruby shorts pattern made up in a chocolate brown cotton twill. This is the second time I try this pattern, the first time was a nightmare, due to very mysterious instructions. Luckily, the instructions for these shorts have just been updated and that makes them so much easier to put together!!
I omitted the front welt pockets and added slash pockets instead (pocket addict).. This meant I had to skip the lowest pair of buttons. Although I was afraid they would draw unwanted attention to the problematic hip area (buttons AND slash pockets at my widest point!) I do love the slash pockets and I know from previous experience that pocketless shorts can be truly annoying ;)
