Burda Style For people who sew
Description
Cocktail dress based on Burda Style pattern 12/2011. I made some changes on decorations. Can’t find sequin fabric I liked, so I chose lace and rose ribbon.
I could not find some pleating shop to pleat chiffon for a hem. I even already gave up. But I really wanted it, so I made a “pleating machine” by myself, using http://www.burdastyle.com/techniques/how-to-make-a-pleater-board
It did not came out as good as I expected (I did not sew under a hem, so it frays a little), but from a distance looks OK ;) Actually, it was the first time I really worked with chiffon.
Material Notes
Syntetic strechy velvet, a lot of chiffon, lace ribbon, “rose” ribbon, sequins.
Lining – thin jersey.
