My entry for the Anda MiniChallenge. I altered the pattern to be more form fitting on the top and through the waist, then flared back out to the original patterned skirt. I altered the neckline for a deeper, more v-shape and also altered the neckline to scoop a bit from the top in the back. Then once I had the pattern altered I cut out two front pieces and two back: one blue and the other in the reverse dyed (check out my How To: Reverse Tie-Dye to see what I did). Then I stitched all pieces together and cut out the little panels. From some of the scrap material I added the belt and the accents on the straps.
An old blue jersey cotton sheet
My brother Zac for taking the pictures, and BurdaStyle for the MiniChallenge – without it I would probably not ever have desired to make this particular pattern.

Oh, it’s wonderful! You are like a bird. The colors are my favorite! It’s so nice and it has nothing in common with Anda! Congratulations!!

Great makeover— the panels and the colors give it a really fairy-like effect.

(Thanks for commenting my little purses btw.) This dress is super creative and really lovely! Really cool ideas for altering the Anda pattern, it is a bit dodgy I agree lol, but this is very cute, I love the neckline.

Beautiful – both the dress itself and you wearing it! The Anda pattern isn’t recognizable, but the dress is perfect! So well done.
