Description
As soon as I booked my holiday in Rome, i thought – I need a nice new summer dress to frolic in once in this charismatic stylish city. I came up with this one.
The pattern i used was McCall’s 2047
Here it is, hanging at home. I added some holiday pics as well.
The curious thing about it was, that it was too short for Vatican and I wasn’t allowed in because it was deemed too racy. Luckily I just bought an amazing 60s vintage jacket, so i covered my knees with it. It didn’t seem to matter that I was showing the back of my legs though. Strange. I took the jacket off as soon as I passed through the gate, right in front of some other Vatican guards, who didn’t seem to mind my legs. Photo evidence provided.

what a really nice dress you have made, great fabric choice what is it? Shame the pattern companies don’t bring back old patterns and start to reprint them

thank you. it’s just a simple cotton. i quite like the fact that you have to search for vintage patterns rather than having them readily available. makes the clothes more unique, i think.
