This was my first attempt at making a shirt pattern and shirt! It took me forever to get it to fit, especially since it is a loose fit and needed to fall right. I was attempting a cowl neckline which didn’t quite work out so I turned it into a nice boatneck. The detail at the bottom was not originally in the plan, but I didn’t have very much fabric and couldn’t make the front and back pieces any bigger and then it was tight around the hips, so I added the pieces. They make it a little more interesting as well as make it fit.

I really like this. Boat necks are very flattering. I like how you adjusted at the sides, too. Grats :) What type of fabric did you use?

Thanks. It’s a polyester stretch. The one side is roughed up so you can’t tell that it is a knit. The other side almost looks like a satin.

Nice shirt. I think the boatneck suits you and I like the colour :)
