Here is a big project that I finished a few months ago.
I waited for the sun to be able to organize a photo shoot…
This is a complete outfit inspired by the 18th century;
- A robe l’anglaise consists of a coat dress and a petticoat.
The coat dress is made of linen and can be worn tucked up ( la polonaise).
The petticoat is made of heavy shiny pink cotton with an old pink trimming sewed on the hem.
The trimming are made of faux buttons, ribbons pleats, pink organza and gold braid.
- A stomacher with fake buttons covered with the same fabric as the petticoat.
- A straw hat trimmed with Calais lace and old feathers
- A pair of shoes painted and completely transformed.
Oh! I forgot to mention underwear; shift, stays, pocket hoops + bustle and petticoat!
If you’re interested, I wrote two tutorials on my blog explaining how to make a hat and how transforming a pair of shoes:
cotton, linen, organza
