This dress is awesome. I love the ruching in the front , bottom, and shoulder areas. If you have an hour grass figure this is an excellent design for your figure. I had a blast wearing to an event this last weekend. I got the pattern from a book called Famous Frocks Patterns for Recreating Fabulous Iconic Dresses. There are 10 fabulous dresses to pick from, and many variations to modernize the look too. The authors of the book are Sara Alm and Hannah McDevitt. I am going to make every dress from this book this summer!
I used a matte jersey, some 1/4 inch red elastic, and a twin needle.
