The dress was made from Burda pattern 7517, I pulled this IKEA fabric from my stash today and thought this fabric needs just the right pattern. Thankfully with a full vintage pattern cabinet I have no shortage of unmade patterns to choose from. I think this pattern fit the bill. Fun and easy to make, I can think of many other combinations that can be made with this great pattern.

Looks great! I just bought this pattern and this will be my first sewing project, any tips for me? I’m concerned about the sizing.

Burda patterns are all about reading the directions, not a lot of step by step pictures. The pattern layout is printed on the tissue paper, look for it there. This pattern is pretty easy – I always use invisible zippers. The sizing is true to the measurements listed. Good luck, look forward seeing the finished project :-).

Love how the ribbon mirrors the black handwriting on the dress. Very nice!

I love it! I always thought that Ikea fabrics are great but using them for dressmaking might turn my outfits into a curtain leftover! This definitely doesn’t look like a curtain at all :D Very creative! thanks for the inspiration
