Hey! This is my first pattern! I wanted to make a vest so I took an old vest, copied it and altered it! It took me so long and I had to do it several times before I was satisfied.
I must say – I’m no professional, but I think it turned out very nice :)
So I hope you like it and I would really enjoy if you sew it, post the photos and give suggestions on how to improve it and etc…

Hi Pushi,
I tried using this pattern to teach to my beginners sewing class. I like the pattern. But I am confused about how to turn it inside out. It seems that with the armholes and shoulders stitched, it is not possible to turn it inside out, if you have only the bottom section left open. I was able to work around it by leaving the shoulders unstitched until after it was turned out. Let me know if I am missing something here…

Hi :)
Well I’ll try to explain:
You should first sew the outer fabric alone (two front piece to the back piece) and the inner fabric alone as well. And then you should sew them together leaving only one place unstitched… did you do something else? If my answer didn’t help maybe try to explain how you sewed the shoulder part :)
And it you finish the vest please post it! :D

Hi Shira,
That’s what I did. I followed the instructions as you wrote them. We sewed the two front pieces to each of the back pieces separately. But once you put the two assembled pieces together and sew around the outside leaving a small opening at the bottom and then sew around the inner arm holes, after that there doesn’t seem to be a way to reverse the vest right side out. Did you do something different? Did you leave a different section unstitched?

Sorry I answer just now…
well I did this a long time ago but maybe you should try and leave an opening in the side of the vest – in the front part, where I put the lace… did you understand what I mean?
