Inspired by the recent shift dress article on burdastyle, I took a chance on this pretty two-tone sateen to make a double-duty reversible shift dress.
I used New Look pattern #6779. It has a yoke which worked with the reversibility idea. I left the bust darts as pleats instead of sewing them, I used self-fabric bias binding on the lower armhole opening, and a wide band feature for the hem, with ‘french’ seams on the sides to enclose the raw edges.

Nice idea! Two dresses in one.
