I thought of getting my younger sister a subscription to Vogue for her 21st birthday, but the price didn’t exactly match with my budget… And it seemed a little impersonal. Instead, I was inspired by this totally cute cotton fabric I found at the thrift store, and decided to make her a reversible bag, using Novita’s pattern over at Very Purple Person. I paired the cotton with a thicker poly/wool/? plaid from my stash, also thrifted, and added a key loop to the edge of each side of the bag (because I personally like to hook my keys securely inside at all times). It was so easy, I next made a lined zippered pouch to match, and to act as a gift wrap.
Cotton, wool/poly/? blend, thrifted, retro.
