Description

This blouse is sewn from pattern #134 Burda 05/2014. I just had to try this pattern because I found it very interesting and fun. I decided to use light cotton voile instead of pique as in the Magazine, and I think it was a good choice :)

Material Notes

Cotton voile.

Thanks ellen for your message about a ‘jack’ – the penny has finally dropped! I shall show you a picture when it’s done – if its presentable!

Hi Ellen. well done on finishing this blouse. it looks lovely. I’m half way through the same top which i’m making with liquid satin (I think that’s what its called). I’m really stuck on the very severe concave curves that need hemming (in middle of front edges). just can’t work it out. how did you do it? any tips? it’s driving me crazy!

Hi Vicky, liquid satin seems wonderful! I think I understand what you mean, and I did iron a small piece of vliseline and cut a little jack, so then it’s easier to make it looks nice. I hope that helps… Good luck and I’m looking forward to see your project! :)

Ellen! Well done! Love the idea of doing this in a more sheer fabric as well as the button detail in the back. So cute and modern take on this vintage classic.

I love this top. Retro, however timeless. I am looking at making a few white tops to go with the suits at work. Yours is just lovely and you look so youthful and beautiful in it!
