This dress makes me happy!!! Happy enough to mow the lawn :)I was inspired by a robins egg and added a little retro fun twist. I did not use a pattern which made it tough, most of the fabric is thrifted and I did a lot of hand sewing. It is completely lined and has hot pink tulle. I added pockets and on the top has two eco friendly buttons on each side to get into the dress easier. I did have a bit of trouble on closing the back; there are about 5 different snaps!!! But it works. I made this dress for my going away party but it didn’t get done in time. I also made a detachable bow to put where ever I want it. In the photo it is in the back. I did have a slight issue with the tailoring.. let me know what you think.
thrifted robins blue fabric and tan/brown linen, polyester fun colored lining, hot pink tulle, snaps, thread, hand sewing, eco buttons, lime green lace seam binding, and of course love :)

This is just amazing, the robins egg blue, the hot pink tulle!! I love it all. I really loved that you did this yourself without a pattern and the back is awesome!! Very inspiring!! Mad props on an awesome job!! :)

This is just gorgeous, and the back cut-out especially is stunning — well DONE! My only possible suggestion would be to add side bust darts to remove the minor drapiness of the front bodice, as the rest of the dress fits you so gorgeously, that back in particular being a really spectacular job. Beautiful!

you made that WITHOUT A PATTERN? i’m in awe. not really my style of dress, but i can absolutely appreciate your talent in putting this creation together WITHOUT A PATTERN wow, i can only dream of doing that someday.

with a pattern would have been a lot easier and faster, but trial and error. You can totally do without a pattern just takes time and patience. I have only been sewing a year self taught so if I can do so can you:) Thank you for the comment:)
