I had my eye on the pattern for this little ensemble for a while and finally gathered myself to make it.
Pattern used is Retro Butterick B5214 (1947)
I ummmmed and aaaaahed and uuummmmmmed and aaaaahhhhhhed some more as to using this fabric, I changed my mind waaaay to many times and finally just bit the bullet and decided to use it and was pleased that I did.
Fitting this pattern chewed at my nerves something shocking! But I stuck with it and got there in the end. It’s a tad tight in the top half (will add extra ease at the side seams next time) but still comfortable none the less. I fully lined this dress in navy blue poplin and the top floral layer is stretch satin.
I used a heavy stretch satin for the jacket and some old vintage buttons:-D
And here are the end results:-D
